Thadeus Ted Olechno Obituary (1915

Thadeus “Ted” A. Olechno, age 96, of Menomonie, passed away Monday, July 11, 2011 at Dunn County Healthcare Center in Menomonie. Ted was born in Chicago, IL, on March 14, 1915 to Frank and Helen (Zelinski) Olechno. He married Helen Behrents in Chicago and were married for 70 years. He worked as a mechanic for Illinois Toolworks of Chicago for 42 years. After retirement, Ted and Helen moved to Menomonie in 1978. Ted was an avid fisherman and grocery shopper. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was known as “Grandpa Smurf” to his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all. Ted is survived by daughters; Judy Head and Peggy Robertson, both of Menomonie 6 grandchildren 15 great-grandchildren 1 great great-grandson He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Helen and grandson Mike Robertson A private memorial service will be held at Menomonie Alliance Church with burial in Cedar Falls Cemetery. The family has requested that no flowers be sent.
