Theodore (Ted) C. Beguhn, age 85, of Menomonie, died Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire. \n \n Ted was born on June 28, 1928 to Theodore F. and Clara (Saheim) Beguhn. He grew up on the family farm. After graduating from Menomonie High School, he enlisted in the Marine Corps. While stationed at Camp Pendleton, California, he played baseball for the Marines. After being honorably discharged, he returned home and married the love of his life, Laura Singerhouse on April 28, 1949. They were married for 60 years. Together they lived and worked on the Beguhn family farm all of their lives. In addition he also worked for U.W. Stout and 3M. \n \n Ted was a man of simple needs. His favorite place on earth was the farm and his greatest contentment was sitting on the porch looking out over the farm. He loved to hunt, especially turkey and deer. His "hunting buddies", Greg, Tom and Josh, Steve, Vic and others were not considered just friends; they were a part of our family. The many stories told will always be funny and memorable. Ted played baseball for many years and amongst his teammates many lifelong friendships were established. He was a part of the Menomonie Eagles State Championship team in 1950. \n \n He was a great husband, father and grandfather. His kindness, sense of humor and caring will always be remembered. He was dearly loved and will be missed very much by his children; daughter Vicki (Jeffrey) Dueringer, son Mickey Beguhn; grandsons, Christopher (Tina) Dueringer of Oconomowoc, WI, David (Kelly) Dueringer of Eau Claire; great grandsons, Brandon, Jordan, Colin and Ethan; brother Carroll (Marlys) Beguhn as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. \n \n He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Laura. \n \n We would like to thank Sharida, Shelly, Lisa and Janice for helping care for Ted during the past year. Your love and caring can never be repaid. Also a thank you to Dr. Steve Rogers, Rhonda and the hospital nursing staff. \n \n Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2013 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Menomonie with Pastor Keith Schleis officiating. Burial will take place in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Twp. Spring Brook, Dunn Co. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
