Timothy G. Hop

–

Menomonie, Wisconsin

Timothy “Timm” G Hop, age 62 of Colfax, WI passed away after a brief but seemingly long battle with Covid-19 on Sunday January 23, 2022 in La Crosse, WI surrounded by his wife Cindy and his sister Marcie.

He was born on January 6, 1960 to Gordon and Ella Mae (Platson) Hop and grew up in the Baldwin area. Timm graduated from Baldwin-Woodville High School in 1978. Shortly after graduating high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force where he served 22 years, mainly stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base in Lompoc, CA. While in California he met the love of his life Cynthia (Cindy) Teal. They were united in marriage on September 8, 1984. To this union they were blessed with their daughter, Ashley Christina, who was the apple of his eye. While in California prior to his retirement they spent a great amount of time with their close friends Andy and Ellie who they still remain in contact with.

In 2000, after 22 years in the military he decided to retire and move his family to Colfax, WI. He was hired on immediately at the Walmart Distribution Center in Menomonie, WI and worked there until his passing.

Timm enjoyed everything and anything outdoors, hunting, fishing, grilling, mowing lawn with his grandson Chase on his lap. He also enjoyed playing Euchre at Dean & Sue’s and The Moose Lodge, shooting pool with Marsha at The Pub, going on long unknown rides on his Harley, going out to eat with his wife. He enjoyed reading books and watching movies in his man cave where he had it set up like a theatre. Building numerous items out of wood was another thing he enjoyed. Really just enjoying life to its fullest. What he enjoyed most was spending quality time with his grandson Chase Gordon whom he treasured and adored more than life itself.

Timm was a very caring, thoughtful, polite, organized, respectful, fun loving, teasing, joking around, human being who was taken from us way to soon. He could carry on a conversation with anybody about anything. In other words, he made the world a better place.

Timm is survived and will be sadly missed by his wife Cindy, sister Marcie, sister-in-law Cathy, daughter Ashley and his grandson Chase Gordon. Also missed by special family friend Wendy, his Aunt Donna and Aunt Molly, as well and many other cousins, friends and many others he came in contact with, such as special co-workers Joni, Kristina and George.

He is preceded in death by his father Gordon, Mother Ella Mae, infant brother Thomas Gordon, father-in-law, Bruce, mother-in-law Joanna, brother-in-law John, both sets of his grandparents and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Thank you to all who prayed during this difficult time and to the Mayo Health Systems medical team in Menomonie and La Crosse with keeping us updated on Timm’s day to day health issues and explaining what was going on and kept him as comfortable as possible. Also a big Thank You to our special family friend Wendy for being our chauffeur and making sure we were able to get to La Crosse to spend time with Timm during his last couple days into his last hours.

Memorial Services will be held 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie with Pastor Brian Ewing officiating. Military honors by the Menomonie Veterans Honor Guard will follow the service. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

THE WORLD WON’T BE THE SAME WITHOUT TIMM IN IT, BUT THE HEAVENS ARE REJOYCING WITH HIS CHARISMATIC CHARM. Until we meet again, RIP Master Seargent Timm
