Timothy Riste

Timothy Allen Riste, age 38, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2011, at his home in the Town of Tainter, Dunn Co., WI.

Tim was born August 13th, 1973 in Eau Claire to Allen & Judith (Hill) Riste. He attended Colfax Elementary, Junior and Senior High, graduating in 1992. He graduated in 1994 from CVTC in Eau Claire with a degree in Machine Tooling.

He was a talented machinist and was employed by several businesses, including Tim's Automotive Machine in Bloomer, Extrusion Dies in Chippewa Falls, and most recently at Baxter Engines in Eau Claire. He specialized in reconstruction of vintage motorcycles and cars, and operated his own shop called Colfax Engine Company.

Tim enjoyed being with his family, especially his nieces and nephew. Over the years, Tim made many close friends through his participation in go-cart racing, drag racing, garden tractor pulling, and motorcycle restoration. He loved his time at the family summer cottage near Lake Tainter and chose to make his home in that same area. He also enjoyed traveling on his motorcycle and the companionship of his pets.

Brother; Tom (Melinda) Riste and their children; Breanna, Matthew, and Ciara Rose of Colfax.
Sister; Tammy (Steve)Riste Wahlin of Crystal, MN
An uncle, Douglas (Beth) Riste of Woodruff, WI
Aunts; Susan Hill, Connie (John) Haugle, all of Colfax
Cousin, Nathan (Tammy) Haugle, and their children Elsa Jane and Dexter Hill of Madison.

He was preceded in death by his mother Judith Riste, grandparents Margie & Tom Hill, and Dorothy & Leroy Riste.

A gathering of family and friends will take place at the Grapevine in Colfax on Wednesday evening, September 21, 2011, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held 6:00 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Colfax United Methodist Church, with Pastor Jeanne Jones officiating. There will be a visitation will from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church on Thursday.
Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 23, 2011in Hill Grove Cemetery, Twp of Colfax, Dunn Co., WI.
