Virgine A. Canfield Obituary (1939

Virgine Ann Canfield, age 76, of Menomonie, WI passed away from natural causes on Friday, January 22, 2016 at The Neighbors of Dunn County. She was born June 8, 1939 in Menomonie, WI to Melvin and Francis (Sorenson) Schladweiler. She married Bill “Bud” Canfield in 1956, was a farmwife and divorced in 1976. VIrgine was a beloved mother to her children, Edith, Bill and Amy. She retired from Cenex in Ridgeland, WI in 2004. She loved to cook for and serve people. She was a skilled and avid cake decorator and felt it was important for everyone to have a decorated cake on their birthday. She and daughter Amy catered parties and celebrations together for several years. She also had a passion for gardening. She had a special love for her church family from Living Hope in Ridgeland, WI. In her last days she also shared memories from her time at the Methodist Church in Connorsville, WI. Virgine is survived by her children, Edith Canfield, Bill (Margie) Canfield and Amy (Mike) Drinkman; sister Gail Schladweiler and Loralee Stump; brother Joe Schladweiler; she especially delighted in her grandchildren, Zachary (Ally) Canfield, Jarrit Drinkman, Sabrina (Caleb) Novak (nee Drinkman), and great-grandson Shane Canfield; also survived by several nieces and nephews. She is a born again Christian believer and savored a deep spiritual walk with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her sense of humor and loving spirit will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, WI. A lunch will follow the service. Burial will be at Vanceburg Cemetery, Town of Sheridan, Dunn Co. WI. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. She will be missed.
