William Anacker, age 96, of Menomonie, WI passed away Saturday, January 7, 2018 at Christian Community Home in Hudson, WI. \n \n He was born Aug. 15, 1921 in the Town of Tiffany, Dunn Co. WI to John and Elsie (Ek) Anacker. William attended Midway School in the Town of Tiffany and graduated from Boyceville High School in 1939. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1942 and got his wings and commission in 1944. William was sent overseas and served in the China Burma India Theater where he flew C-47 cargo planes and earned two flying crosses supplying the ground troops. After his tour of duty, he was sent back to the states and was discharged in 1945. \n \n On June 23, 1947, William married Janice Seitz in Menomonie, WI. \n \n William enjoyed the outdoors and nature and he loved to hunt and fish. \n \n William is survived by his brother Jackie (Jo Ellen) Anacker of Hudson, WI and nieces, Jamie (Josh) Hansen and their daughters, Karlie, Lillyan of Hudson, and Jennelle Anacker and son Joseph of Baldwin, WI. \n \n He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Janice and a sister Doris Haynes. \n \n A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Menomonie with military honors by Menomonie Veterans Honor Guard.
