Ying Vang Xiong Obituary (1949

Ying Vang Xiong, age 73 of Menomonie, WI passed away Thursday, November 17th, 2022, at her home, after battling 9 months of Colon Cancer. She was born on February 4th, 1949, in Laos to Xao Kou and Lue (Yang) Vang. She never attended or had the opportunity to go to school. She worked on the rice fields with her siblings to provide food for her family. She enjoyed spending time with friends and hand sewing clothes. Ying married Cher Tong Xiong March 30th, 1974 in Xiengkhoung, Laos, together they had three children. They farmed until 1988, then migrated to Thailand. On July 19th, 1989, Ying and her family immigrated to Eau Claire, WI. 4 months later, her family moved to Menomonie, WI. Ying is lovingly remembered and missed by her two sons, Ker (See) Xiong of Elk Mound, and Lee (Xia) Xiong of Menomonie, her daughter Ia Xiong of St. Paul; Nine grandsons, TongChi, Isaac, Brandon, Josiah, Ntxhw, Keng, Mouakong, Henry and Jakub; and 2 granddaughters, Jiali and Shana. The Celebration of Life for Ying will take place at Koob Moo Funeral Chapel in St. Paul on January 7th-9th, 2023.
